Mt. Ashland

Mt. Ashland expansion update:
A federal court injunction has prevented Mt. Ashland from doing any expansion work until the U.S. Forest Service (“landlord”) addressed some issues raised by opponents of the expansion, mostly about whether new chairlifts and trails would affect habitat for the Pacific fisher, a weasel-like mammal that’s known to be present in the Siskiyou Mountains.

The U.S. Forest Service has completed the work to correct the deficiencies in its environmental review, and is beginning the legal process to have the injunction lifted.
Nothing can happen on the ground until the legal process grinds to a final resolution.
